Former Arsenal defender William Gallas believes the Gunners made a mistake when they signed Kai Havertz in the summer.
After just missing out on the Premier League title last season to Manchester City, Mikel Arteta's side spent over £200m on new signings which included the arrival of Havertz from Chelsea and it was a move which raised eyebrows with Arsenal already possessing an exciting attacking lineup.
Havertz has made 19 appearances so far in all competitions for Arsenal, but he only has one goal to show for his efforts leading to some questioning whether the German made the right decision to move from West to North London.
"I said at the beginning of the season that Kai Havertz would struggle for Arsenal. I don’t want to sound like a broken record, but he is still struggling," Gallas told Genting Casino.
"I think it was always going to be difficult for Havertz to adapt to the way that Arsenal play and the way that Mikel Arteta wants to use him.
"I don’t think he was the type of player that Arsenal needed to sign in the summer.
"When you look at the squad, in my opinion, there were different types of players that they should have prioritised. It looks like it was a mistake to sign him."
Arsenal's first game after the international break takes place on Saturday when they face Brentford in the Premier League.
