He thinks time is running out.

Former Arsenal and Chelsea defender William Gallas believes that Mauricio Pochettino has until the end of the season to rescue his job.

Chelsea have endured another difficult season and they look increasingly unlikely to land any kind of European football next year.

The club are reportedly planning another squad overhaul in the summer and that might leave Pochettino at risk too, with several other candidates linked as a potential replacement to improve the situation at Todd Boehly’s club.

Speaking to Gambling Zone, Gallas believes that Pochettino only has a few weeks left to demonstrate that he should be kept on.

He said: “I’m always a person who likes to give people a little bit more time, especially for managers in Pochettino’s position.

“For the players as well, because when you arrive at a club it takes time to adapt to a new club.

“But now, Pochettino I think maybe should be given a few more games next season to see how they will start the season to see how the season looks and what is going to happen.

“Then, if they have to sack him, then they will sack him.”
