Sam Allardyce has advised Gareth Southgate to listen to his coaching staff as the England boss tries to find the solution to his side's problems.
Southgate has taken the flack for the Three Lions' underwhelming start at Euro 2024, with questions aimed at his team selection, game plan and the fitness of some of his players.
Talking on William Hill and Footy Accumulators’ podcast, No Tippy Tappy Football, former England boss Allardyce thinks Southgate's staff must have a say in solving the team's issues.
“Gareth Southgate’s coaches must have a say in the way England play,” said Allardyce.
“He should be listening to his coaches and they should be saying, ‘gaffer, you can’t keep playing like that, you’ve got to stop’.
"If they’re telling him to carry on playing the way he currently is, then they’re more to blame than Gareth. They have to tell him to change it.
“The other coaches have also got to let him know when players are struggling fatigue-wise. Some of them have played 60 games this season.”
