Harry Kane has come under fire for his performances at Euro 2024, but one former striker has told him not to listen to the criticism.

The England skipper has scored twice in the tournament so far, including the winning goal in the win over Slovakia. However, some have questioned his overall performances and contribution to Gareth Southgate's side.

Speaking to Poker Sites, Teddy Sheringham has urged Kane to ignore what's been said to him and just focus on scoring goals for his country.

He said: “It’s been a tough campaign for Harry Kane – he’s been marked very tightly and looks a bit isolated up front.

"However, he’s England’s main man and our leader. He just needs to ignore the criticism coming his way. Gareth Southgate knows he’s the best striker in England for a reason – he just needs to keep focused and be confident that the balls are going to drop for him and be ready when they do.

“He’ll continue to get chances in all the games he features in, so he needs to keep leading by example and focus on his individual game, rather than listening to what other people have to say about him.”
