Bacary Sagna believes Paul Pogba would enjoy a fresh start at Arsenal.
Pogba recently had his four-year doping ban reduced to 18 months, meaning the 31-year-old can begin training with a club in January and return to playing in March. The former Manchester United star most recently played for Juventus, but he could seek a move to another club when his ban ends in order to begin anew.
Sagna, who played for Arsenal for seven seasons and was Pogba's international teammate with France for three years, suggested a move back to the Premier League for the World Cup-winning midfielder, with the Gunners his top choice.
“The Premier League suits Paul Pogba – I would love to see him joining Arsenal," Sagna said while speaking to Paddy Power. "It would be great – he has experience; he loves to play with young players around him – that is when he is most efficient.
“At the 2018 World Cup, that was when he was most efficient – he had friends around him.
“Arsenal have a young, fresh team, and I see him performing in an Arsenal shirt. He will get love from their fans.
“Now, he can start from scratch again – he's had time away from football, and he’ll be back with a desire to get back into a good space and play football again.”
