Former Manchester United and England defender Wes Brown has explained why Kobbie Mainoo has started to shine.
The 18-year-old is now an England international, and is already a regular starter at Old Trafford after establishing himself as one of United’s most promising youngsters in years.
There is speculation that England manager Gareth Southgate will take the teenager to Euro 2024 this summer after his recent performances, and speaking to instantcasinos.com, Brown thinks he has earned the trust of the national manager already.
He said: “Before his call-up it was going to be very tight, but now Gareth Southgate has added him into the squad and put him on the field, I think that gets him on the plane for Germany this summer.
“He really is a player who is beyond his years with regards to his calmness in big moments and I think Southgate really likes him and trusts him already.
“I don’t think he’ll be shy in putting him on the pitch if he needs him either.
“Obviously he’s come in because of all the injuries Manchester United have had, he’s had to step up and play because Erik ten Hag had no other option, but I’m so happy he did because you can tell what a good, young player he is and that’s now on show for his country as well.
“He will learn and get better, but his attitude is the main thing for me and the reason he’s played so many games."
