Jadon Sancho's departure from Manchester United seems imminent, but the England international is still a Red Devils player for now.

The situation between Sancho and United manager Erik ten Hag has been a big topic of conversation this season, as the 23-year-old has been sidelined after hitting out at his manager on social media.

It's not expected to be resolved to the point that Sancho could regularly suit up for United, so until the transfer window the player will likely remain in limbo until he can be moved to another club.

It's a "horrible" situation, said one former Man United striker. Louis Saha was speaking to Paddy Power as he shared his thoughts on the state of affairs between club and player.

“The Jadon Sancho situation is horrible for everybody," Saha said. "As a Manchester United fan, you want to see the best players and most talented players on the pitch and Sancho is definitely one of those players that can disrupt the opposition.

"But, since he signed, he hasn’t performed regularly, and it’s been going on for months now so it's time to find the solution for everybody."

Saha recommended a departure from the Premier League for Sancho, who rose to prominence at German side Borussia Dortmund.

Regardless of where he decides, Saha said the future for Sancho lies away from Old Trafford.

“Even if Erik ten Hag considered bringing him back into the team, I doubt it would work because if he starts playing well, people will say that ten Hag should have brought him in earlier," Saha said.

"But if he doesn’t play well, then people will say that he shouldn’t have brought him back.

“It’s a very difficult situation to manage and it’s bad for the club because it’s an off-field situation that’s affected things on the pitch.”
