April is shaping up to be a massive month for Manchester City, with six Premier League matches and an FA Cup semi-final on the schedule for Pep Guardiola's men.
But perhaps the biggest of the upcoming fixtures is a pair of matches against Real Madrid, who City drew as opponents in the Champions League quarterfinals.
Madrid are looking for their 15th title in the continental championship, which would put them eight clear of the next most successful side in the history of the tournament. Meanwhile, City are the defending champions, and while they don't have the history of their Spanish opponents, they are considered on equal footing in recent years.
As such, City vs. Madrid may be the glamour tie of the entire competition, and an Etihad Stadium legend is eager to watch the showdown.
Speaking to Stake, Sergio Aguero lamented the fact that the matchup comes so early in the competition, but still expressed excitement for the massive matches.
"Ah, can't wait to see that one! It's become somewhat of a Champions League superclasico," Aguero said. "It comes a bit early at the quarterfinals, but oh well.
"Two of the top candidates, one to be knocked off. Anything can happen in these types of games, we've seen as much. A field full of the top stars of modern football, with two of the sharpest managers out there.
"Just like last year, I would love to see City coming out ahead."
