Following a 3-0 defeat to city rivals Manchester City, there is another inquest taking place into the current state of Manchester United.
United were humiliated by Pep Guardiola's side and there are a number of players who have come under the spotlight including captain Bruno Fernandes.
The Portuguese international failed to make an impact on the game and came under scrutiny for how he was conducting himself on the pitch. This lead to club legend Roy Keane calling for Fernandes to be stripped of the captaincy as a result of his behaviour,
However, former United striker Dimitar Berbatov believes this should not happen as it could affect Fernandes' performances for the rest of season and add to the current chaos surrounding United.
"If he is removed as Man United captain, then his performances will dip because it's disrespectful to him. Bruno will be aware of the criticism regarding his behaviour, and he will need to work on it," Berbatov told Betfair.
"The reason for Fernandes' current behaviour is due to how the team is performing. He's not happy with it. I've been there myself and I know the feeling. It's not a good one.
"When you're the captain and things aren't going well, you need to shout, and you need to be angry with the players around you. We know where he's coming from with all this, but I don't think the armband should be taken away from him."
United look to bounce back from last weekend's defeat when they face Newcastle United in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday night before travelling to Fulham in the next round of Premier League matches.
