Former Premier League defender Jose Enrique has backed his old club, Newcastle United, to finish above Manchester United this season.

The Magpies are currently seventh, one point behind Manchester United. Eddie Howe's team host Erik ten Hag's side on Saturday night. It is a big game, as both sides wish to boost their top-four hopes.

Enrique told <a href="https://www.grosvenorcasinos.com/sport" target="_blank">Grosvenor Sport</a>, "I also believe that Newcastle will finish above United at the end of the season." Furthermore, Enrique commented that the pressure will build on Ten Hag if Man United do not qualify for the UEFA Champions League.

Enrique said, "United are a club that need to finish in the top four because they need to be competing in the Champions League for ten Hag to continue."

Newcastle own an excellent home record and has already beaten Manchester United this season. Another win will enhance their top-four hopes.
