Gunners man finally finding form at The Emirates.

Harry Redknapp has hailed the recent performances of Arsenal's Kai Havertz.

The German arrived in North London last summer in a £60 million deal from Chelsea but struggled to make an impact on the side in his early months at the club, leading to questions over his future in Mikel Arteta's team.

However, the forward looks to be getting back his best in recent weeks and netted in Arsenal's 4-1 win over Newcastle this past weekend - his seventh goal of the campaign. Speaking to BetVictor Redknapp now believes Havertz has earned his place in the Gunners' first XI.

"Kai Havertz has been getting better and better for Arsenal, he looks like he belongs in this side," he said.

"I still don’t know where this lad’s best position is but that’s not necessarily a bad thing! He played up front at the weekend and led the line well. He’s got everything you’d want in a modern footballer; he just needs to put it all together. You look at the clubs he’s been at and what he’s achieved in his career, that’s not by accident.

"There’s a top, top player in Havertz and Mikel Arteta is beginning to get the best out of him."

The former Tottenham and West Ham boss has also heaped praise on Havertz's club captain, Martin Odegaard, suggesting that he could be the difference-maker for Arsenal for the remainder of the season.

He added: "Martin Odegaard didn’t find the net against Newcastle, but he was sublime. Some of his touches and flicks were just fantastic, brilliant to watch. Arsenal are in incredible scoring form right now and this boy is central to everything they do. If he can keep this form up, this Arsenal side could take some stopping this season."
