Where will the Red Devils finish at the end of the campaign?

Robbie Savage is tipping Manchester United for a stronger second half of the season if Erik ten Hag continues to trust in the club's academy players.

Talking to Planet Sport Bet, Savage, who came through the United academy himself before embarking on his club career, says that he can see the Red Devils finishing in the top seven if the United boss continues to put his trust in academy players.

“The academy has proven its worth with United," said Savage.

If you look at the fundamental players in the squad, Alejandro Garnacho, Kobbie Mainoo, Marcus Rashford, and Scott McTominay who all came from the academy, without their goals, I’d agree that they might finish outside the top seven. Ten Hag has to play those players, he’s got to have faith and give them an opportunity, and they’re repaying him massively. If you look at the amount of money United have spent, their recruitment has been poor, but for those players, look at how dynamic and young the front three are; Rashford, Hojlund, Garnacho.

“I think getting Luke Shaw back is important. We’ve seen against Wolves how dynamic he was along that left side. United have also started to control games in the midfield which we saw in their performance against West Ham.

“Right now, with new investment, you’d say that Ten Hag is in a trial period until the end of the season, but I think that United will finish in the top seven.”
