Gary Neville makes critical assessment of Chelsea owner Todd BoehlyDAZN

Former Manchester United defender Gary Neville has made a critical assessment of Chelsea owner Todd Boehly.

The American took over the West London club in June 2022 and despite spending a huge amount of money on player transfers, these investments are not paying off with the team finding itself mid-table in the Premier League.

Boehly has also been trigger happy when it comes to the club's managers sacking Thomas Tuchel and Graham Potter during his time at Stamford Bridge.

With Chelsea legend Frank Lampard now in charge of the team, the club seems to be in limbo when it comes to future plans and while Neville believes appointing Lampard was the right decision, it's a clear sign that Boehly is struggling to find the right man for the job.

"It isn't right,' Neville said on The Overlap when discussing Chelsea's manager crisis.

"You've still got two months of the season to go, you've got to do it properly. I don't think Chelsea can afford just to leave Graham Potter's No 2 in until the end of the season. They had to do something.

"They obviously can't get the man that they want. Whether it be [Julian] Nagelsmann, [Mauricio] Pochettino or whoever.

"The guy Boehly is having an absolute nightmare. It's not going well at all."
