Premier League champions could face a number of sanctions.

Pitchside reporter Geoff Shreeves has called on Manchester City to be relegated from the Premier League if they are found guilty of Financial Fair Play related charges.

The current Premier League champions are under investigation for a whopping 115 charges dating back to 2009, and there has been much speculation on the type of punishment the club could face.

The club could end up being hit with a massive fine, points deduction or relegation from the league, and Shreeves is of the belief that there would be no option but to relegate Pep Guardiola's side in the event of a guilty verdict.

“The Everton and Manchester City charges are very different." Shreeves told Luckyblock.com

"You can't compare the two directly and Everton were in dialogue with the Premier League all the way through their process. I think with Manchester City, it will come to court but not for two years at least. It's a long, a long, long way down the road.

“I don't see that the Premier League would have any other option than to relegate City if they are found guilty. They've set a precedent with Everton with those points deductions. They primarily pushed for a 12 point deduction. So it has to be a possibility, it has to be.”
