The Premier League dives head first into the busy festive schedule this weekend, with plenty of key games up and down the league.

Manchester City will look to bounce back from derby day defeat as they travel to Villa Park, while league leaders Liverpool are at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Here's Harry Redkapp's take on the weekend's action as he gives his predictions to BetVictor

Tottenham 2-3 Liverpool

I know Southampton were poor but some of Tottenham’s football the other night was just superb. The way James Maddison, Dejan Kulusevksi and Heung-Min Son were linking up was just a joy to watch. This should be a thriller!

I thought Liverpool were superb with ten men against Fulham. They still created plenty of chances and really took the game to them in that second half. To me, that performance showed so much character.

The Spurs vs Chelsea game a few weeks ago was such a thriller, I think we’ll see something very similar here. Like that game, I think Liverpool will just edge it, but this could be anything!

One to watch – Diogo Jota came on and scored a lovely goal last week. He could play from the start here and he’ll get chances against this Spurs back line!

Aston Villa 1-2 Manchester City

What a game this could be! Aston Villa’s form of late hasn’t been disastrous but I don’t think they’re playing that well and they look a bit shaky at the back to me.  Despite how bad Manchester City have been of late, they’re still above Villa in the table.

I keep thinking this will be the week that City click into gear, but it just isn’t happening for them. The goals they concede have been so poor; they seem so easy to create chances against. Pep Guardiola doesn’t normally do a lot of business in January, but I think they’ll be busy this time around.

I can’t see City going to Villa Park and keeping a clean sheet. I think they’ll just edge it though and get a vital win.

One to watch – Erling Haaland hasn’t been bad of late but he’s just not getting service. This week could be the week he gets the chances that we know he’ll put away.

Manchester United 2-1 Bournemouth

What a moment for Manchester United and Amad Diallo last week, that should give everyone associated with the club such a lift. I’m curious how they follow it up though, United have been such an inconsistent side this season and Bournemouth are flying.

Bournemouth probably should have beaten West Ham on Monday, but it was a decent point in the end. What a free kick that was as well, the technique was just fantastic!

Bournemouth are so well-coached and their energy and pressing will make this awkward for the home side. I think United win this, just.

One to watch - How can it not be Amad Diallo; he’s the man of the moment for United.

Crystal Palace 1-2 Arsenal

An interesting one. It’s never easy playing a side in the cup during the week and then in the league at the weekend. Crystal Palace have looked good in recent weeks, what a fantastic win that was down in Brighton.

Arsenal beat Palace during the week, but they didn’t look good at home against Everton. This feels like such a big game for them, they can’t afford to keep dropping points.

I just think Arsenal narrowly win this, but there won’t be much at all in this.

One to watch - Obviously, Gabriel Jesus scored a hat-trick during the week and with the problems they’ve had scoring, he should start this one.

Everton 0-1 Chelsea

It wasn’t a classic but that was another vintage away performance by Everton against Arsenal. Jordan Pickford made some good saves but, overall, they didn’t really give Arsenal too many chances in the game and were worth that point.

As for Chelsea, they show no signs of slowing down. When this team clicks, it might just be the best attacking side in the league.

Everton will try and frustrate Chelsea here and turn this into a battle. This will be a big test for Chelsea and their title credentials. I think they’ll get the win.

One to watch – Nicolas Jackson took his goal superbly last week and he’ll need to be at his best here against a very solid defence.

Ipswich 1-2 Newcastle

What a massive, massive win that was for Ipswich last week against Wolves. To win so late on will only lift the mood and atmosphere in the dressing room, they should have a bit more belief about them.

It’s been a good week for Newcastle and boy did they need it. They cruised to a win over Leicester last week before beating Brentford in the League Cup. They might have just turned a corner.

I can see Newcastle going on a decent run of form, 2-1.

One to watch – Sandro Tonali has been in great form but so too has Alexander Isak – what a player he is.

West Ham 1-1 Brighton

That was a decent point for West Ham at Bournemouth, even if I did think they rode their luck at times. They did show a bit of fight and character in that game though, but I just don’t see much consistency in this team.

Brighton have let so many points slip this season. To concede three and lose to Crystal Palace at home is very disappointing for them and suddenly, there might be a few question marks surrounding this team.

I think we’ll see a draw here.

One to watch - He’s nearly 40 but Lukasz Fabianski was superb the other night at Bournemouth. The keeper will need another good game here against a Brighton side full of attacking quality.

Brentford 2-2 Nottingham Forest

I’m looking forward to this one, every Brentford home game seems to be a thriller! I don’t understand how they can be such a different side on the road, but they clearly know how to win games at home.

It looked like it wasn’t going to happen for Nottingham Forest at home to Aston Villa last week, what a win that was in the end. They’ve got Brentford here and Tottenham at home during the week, this is a big week for them.

At some point, Brentford will have a run of the mill home game, but I don’t think so here! I’m going for a thriller, 2-2.

Ones to watch - The two main men for both, Bryan Mbeumo and Chris Wood. I’ll be shocked if neither finds the net.

Fulham 2-0 Southampton

What a good side Fulham are this season. If anything, I think Marco Silva will be disappointed with just a point away to Liverpool seeing as they had that man advantage.

It’s all change at Southampton and I'm curious how they will get on when they appoint a new boss. It’s early in the year but they’re already nine points adrift, that’s a lot to overturn. I worry about what the morale in the dressing room is like.

I can only see a home win here.

One to watch - I think Antonee Robinson is probably Fulham’s best player. He may be a left-back but the number of chances he creates is unbelievable.

Leicester 1-1 Wolves

A difficult one to call. Leicester looked awful last week against Newcastle, that could have been six or seven easily. They’ve been decent against the sides in and about them in the league though, so I’d expect a better performance here.

As for Wolves, Gary O’Neil has gone and obviously, I’m gutted for him. The performances haven’t been that bad and they’ve been very unfortunate with some refereeing decisions. I’m curious how Vitor Pereira does, I still think there’s some decent quality in this side.

I’m leaning towards a draw in this one.

One to watch - As ever, Jamie Vardy will be the most likely Leicester player to find the net. I’d imagine that they’ll look to add a bit more firepower in the January window, it’s a big ask for Vardy to still be the talisman every week at his age.
