VfL Wolfsburg is one of five teams with a perfect record through the first two games of the 2023-24 Bundesliga season, and the club will look to make it three wins in a row as it hits the road to face TSG Hoffenheim on Saturday.
Wolfsburg has scored twice in each of its first two matches, the first a 2-0 victory over newly-promoted Heidenheim and the second last week's 2-1 win at Köln. The latter victory required a second-half comeback thanks to a pair of goals by Jonas Wind, so it's not as if Wolfsburg's been dominating through the early part of the new campaign.
Regardless, the visitors have found ways to win, which was also the case for Hoffenheim last weekend. The Blues shrugged off a two-goal deficit to the aforementioned Heidenheim and stormed back with three goals in the final 13 minutes to snatch a 3-2 victory. That followed Hoffenheim's failed comeback on opening weekend, when the team also fell behind by two goals but only managed to score one of its own as it fell 2-1 at home to SC Freiburg.
If Hoffenheim is to break Wolfsburg's perfect start on Saturday, not going down by a pair of goals would be a good way to go about it.
