The Milan clubs have been duelling for top spot in Serie A for several weeks, with A.C. Milan holding a three-point edge heading into Sunday's action.
Second-place Inter Milan looks to possibly close that gap when it hosts Juventus, but the Nerazzurri know that a win over the league's most successful club is anything but an easy proposition. Despite Juve's relatively low place in the standings — the Bianconeri sit in fifth with 33 points, four fewer than Inter — it's only a matter of time before Andrea Pirlo's men have more of a say in the ongoing title race.
To that end, Juve has overcome a tentative start to the campaign with a stellar run that has seen the side win six games, lose once and draw once since the beginning of December. It should be expected that the nine-time defending champions will continue their push toward the top of the table throughout the remainder of the campaign.
Meanwhile, Inter has seen its torrid run (eight straight wins) come to an end, with Antonio Conte's side only picking up a single point over the last two league matches. Given how tight the title race has become —Napoli and Roma are also within three points of Inter — every result takes on bigger importance.
With both clubs under pressure to grab a win, Sunday's match promises to be a tense affair.
