Ray Parlour sees potential in one Arsenal player.

Arsenal Invincible Ray Parlour believes that Bukayo Saka could one day win the Ballon d’Or.

Lionel Messi won for a record-extending eighth time this week in Paris, but there were signs of younger players coming through to be the next generation to challenge.

Kylian Mbappe, Erling Haaland and Jude Bellingham are some of the current frontrunners to dominate the next decade, but speaking to bettingsites.co.uk, Parlour suggested that Arsenal winger Saka could join them.

“I think Bukayo Saka can go on to one day be challenging for the Ballon d’Or,” Parlour said.

“You’ve got to believe he can do that – he’s such a great player, he always plays and is such a good professional for his age. He’s got to be aiming for and heading towards that.

“You look at someone like Jude Bellingham as well, with what he’s doing at Real Madrid, unbelievable for someone at such a young age. Those two will be the sort of players challenging for the award in three or four years’ time, I’m sure of it.

“But if you’re Bukayo Saka, you’ve got to be doing well in the Premier League with your club first and foremost and winning titles with them. Then he won’t be finishing 24th like he did this year, he’ll be in the top 10, definitely.”

Arsenal play Newcastle on Saturday evening in the Premier League as they look to go one better than last year's second-place finish.
