Japan's star in women's football has fallen a bit in recent years, but they are still a force to be reckoned with on the world stage.

The Asian country has been a part of every Women's World Cup since the tournament's inception in 1991, with their best performances coming in the 2010s as they won the 2011 edition and were runners-up in 2015.

After reaching those heights, they then fell short of their own lofty standards in 2019, exiting at the round of 16. More disappointingly, they could only reach the quarter-finals of the 2020 Olympics, hosted in Tokyo.

With those relative setbacks behind them, the Japanese now have the opportunity to rebuild their standing in the world. They'll be in tough in the group stage at the 2023 WWC, with rising Spain their biggest rival for top spot in Group C.

Here are the fixtures that will define Japan's World Cup journey, along with kick-off times and how to watch.
