What a difference a week makes.
Everton capped off an impressive six-day stretch with a 1-0 victory over Brentford on Saturday, securing their safety from relegation in the process.
The victory was the Toffees' third in a row, with the club keeping clean sheets in all of them.
The three-game win streak came on the heels of a 6-0 loss to Chelsea on April 15 that left Everton reeling and looking like genuine candidates to drop to the EFL Championship, but a renewed defensive commitment and opportune finishing against Nottingham Forest (April 21), Liverpool (April 24) and Brentford means the club can breathe easy for the remainder of the campaign.
For Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford, his side's resilience was a quintessential response to the adversity they faced.
"Perfect. A big bounceback from Chelsea," Pickford said.
"A lot of pressure the last two years and the deductions this year, the lads dug in massively.
"A perfect week. Three wins, three clean sheets."
