England are just two days away from the start of their 2024 European Championship campaign.
Gareth Southgate's side are one of the favourites to win the competition, which gets under way with Germany vs. Scotland on Friday night.
One of the key reasons for England's short odds is striker and captain Harry Kane, who is set to break the record for most major tournament appearances by an England player this summer.
Speaking to the media at England's pre-match press conference on Friday, Pickford spoke highly of his captain, who he said pushes him to be even better.
"Harry leads by example, the skipper," said Pickford.
"The professionalism he gives us, he is an example for us to look at and he is the record goalscorer.
"Season by season he has with his club, the amount of goals he scores, shows us the example we need.
"In training it's not nice for us goalkeepers but you are practising against the best and that pushes us as well."
