The match was hotly contested.

Liverpool shared the spoils with Manchester City on Sunday as the teams battled to a 1-1 draw at Anfield.

The match was a massive one in the Premier League title race as both sides, along with leaders Arsenal, have a legitimate shot at claiming the league crown and just a single point now separates the three teams with 10 games remaining

With so much at stake, Sunday's match had its share of contentious moments. There may not have been a bigger one than a non-penalty call at the end of stoppage time after City's Jeremy Doku appeared to have made contact with Liverpool goal scorer Alexis Mac Allister inside the Sky Blues' penalty area.

Doku lifted his foot high to clear a bouncing ball and appeared to have struck Mac Allister in the chest with his follow through, but the officials determined the incident was not a foul.

A penalty at that moment could have had game-changing implications, and after the match Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp expressed his displeasure with the decision.

"It was 100% [a] penalty," Klopp told BBC Match of the Day. "They (the officials) will find an explanation. It was 100% [a] foul in all areas of the pitch and probably a yellow card.

"All the people with iPads around me were 'wow, clear'. Maybe they can hide behind the phrase it is not clear and obvious."

Despite bemoaning the decision, Klopp was eager to point out how his players performed on the night.

"It is of course a penalty but we didn't get it and that is fine," he said. "The most important thing for me is that we can play football like that. I saw so many sensational performances today."
