Jurgen Klopp explains how Nottingham Forest win was a 'most difficult game' for LiverpoolDAZN

Liverpool will go into next weekend atop the Premier League standings after pulling off a dramatic 1-0 victory at Nottingham Forest on Saturday.

The match appeared to be headed for a scoreless draw until Darwin Nunez scored in the ninth minute of stoppage time to seal all three points for the Reds, who have now won four straight league matches and six consecutive across all competitions.

It was the second straight game in which Forest lost by virtue of a goal scored in the dying moments, but Liverpool won't feel any remorse as they jumped to a four-point lead atop the standings with second-place Manchester City and third-place Arsenal still to play this weekend.

For Jurgen Klopp, Saturday's match was a tough one given Liverpool's hectic schedule of late as they attempt to win a quadruple.

"Most difficult game we played because of the circumstances," Klopp told Sky Sports. "Four games in 11 days is really tricky with the squad situation we have."

The Liverpool manager was elated by his players' ability to find a victory under tricky circumstances.

"It was super special," he said. "You could see it didn't go easy for us today in any part of the game.

"It's so hard. How we have four wins [in a row], I can't believe."
