Wednesday will mark the fifth Champions League meeting between Juventus and Chelsea, with neither side having pulled ahead (1W, 1L, 2D each).
Of course, history doesn't really count for much when the clubs haven't met in nine years, as both teams' squads have been vastly overhauled in the time since.
What we do know is that Juve's attempting to reinvent itself in the wake of Cristiano Ronaldo's departure. Results have been mixed thus far, with Bianconeri struggling out of the gate to a 2-2-2 record in Serie A, but their first match in the Champions League was a confidence-boosting 3-0 victory over Malmo.
Things get a lot tougher for Juventus against the defending UCL champ in Chelsea, though.
The Blues raced to a stellar start domestically, going unbeaten in their first five matches, but they were brought back down to Earth by Manchester City over the weekend and will be looking to get back on a winning path when they visit Turin for Wednesday's contest.
Chelsea will be missing four players, including influential midfielder N'Golo Kante, but manager Thomas Tuchel should have his pick of the remainder of the squad against Juve.
"Christian [Pulisic], Reece [James] and Mason [Mount] are out," Tuchel said on Tuesday.
"N’Golo unfortunately tested positive [for COVID-19] and he needs to quarantine and follow the government protocols. He was not in training today."
