La Liga final day: Who will win the league? Who is battling for Europe? Who could be relegated?DAZN

The Liga season will come to a close this weekend and there are still a few matters of significance to be decided.

Of course, the headline event has already been settled. Xavi Hernandez has brought Liga glory back to the Camp Nou and the Catalans are champions.

They may still have financial problems to overcome to maintain their supremacy next season, and to make a better job of the Champions League, but they can be assured that their fans are relieved and there are reasons for cautious optimism under their former midfielder.

For Real, things are a little different. They suffered the disappointment of a heavy defeat to Manchester City in the Champions League semi-final, and they fell short of retaining their title.

Second place is not even certain, with Carlo Ancelotti's men just a point ahead of Atletico Madrid behind them in third. However, Real, Atletico and Real Sociedad are all assured of playing Champions League next season. A win for Sevilla in Wednesday's Europa League final against Roma will see them reach the Champions League next season, too.

Villarreal and Real Betis have taken the two Europa League spots.

That leaves a Europa Conference League spot still to play. Osasuna, Athletic Bilbao, Girona, Rayo Vallecano and Sevilla are in seventh to 11th spot and all in with a shout, though as mentioned, Sevilla could leapfrog into the Champions League.

At the bottom, Elche and Espanyol are relegated, with Valladolid on 39 points in 18th. Celta Vigo an Almeria have 40, while Valencia, Getafe and Cadiz have 41 points.
