Manchester City booked a spot in the 2020-21 UEFA Champions League final after outclassing Paris Saint-Germain 2-0 at the Etihad Stadium on Tuesday.

The result, combined with last week's victory in Paris, gave City a 4-1 aggregate win in the two-legged semifinal.

Riyad Mahrez was the man of the hour on Tuesday, scoring both goals as the Sky Blues imposed their will over a PSG side that was missing Kylian Mbappe due to injury.

With PSG already needing to score at least twice in Tuesday's match, City made things even tougher on the visitors early on as Mahrez pounced on a rebound and fired home a low drive from a tough angle to give his side the 1-0 lead.

The goal came from a sublime bit of distribution from City goalkeeper Ederson, who hit a 70-yard bomb down the left for Oleksandr Zinchenko to chase, with the left back sending in a cross to Kevin De Bruyne. Though De Bruyne's shot was blocked, the ball fell fortuitously to an onrushing Mahrez for the finish.

PSG's sense of urgency increased after the initial goal, but the Parisians weren't able to turn the increased focus into scoring chances. City kept PSG from registering a shot on target for the entire match, which eventually spelled doom for the visitors as Mahrez was able to put the nail in PSG's coffin just after the hour mark.

After absorbing pressure, City hit a devastating counterattack with De Bruyne and Phil Foden leading the line. Foden charged down the left flank and put an inch-perfect cross into the path of Mahrez, who easily tapped the ball into the wide open net from point-blank range.

With the tie effectively wrapped up, PSG's frustrations came to bear. Angel Di Maria got himself ejected in the 69th minute for a petulant challenge on City captain Fernandinho, and the Argentine was joined in the referee's book just two minutes later by Marco Verratti, who was cautioned for kicking the ball towards a prone Foden.

Another pair of PSG players eventually picked up yellow cards in the dying minutes, and the infractions would be the only notable actions on the night for PSG.
