    Here's everything you need to know about Sunday's broadcast between the Sky Blues and Reds.

    The two most recent Premier League champions square off on Sunday as Manchester City hosts Liverpool.

    Title-holder Liverpool heads into Matchday 8 atop the standings once again, with the Reds experiencing a torrid run of form despite missing some notable players. Since being blown out by Aston Villa on Oct. 4, Liverpool has won five matches and drawn one in all competitions — the most recent victory a 5-0 thrashing of Serie A club Atalanta in the Champions League.

    It's a return to the type of dominance that has defined the Merseysiders for most of Jurgen Klopp's tenure as manager, and it should be a signal to the rest of the Premier League that the road to the title again goes through Liverpool.

    On the other side of the field, City is the only club in England that can boast similar recent success. The Sky Blues have won four of the last nine PL titles and finished second three times during that stretch. So often are Pep Guardiola's men in the title hunt that it's off-putting to see them mired in 10th place after six matches.

    However, City holds a game in hand on eight of the teams ahead of it (including Liverpool) and sits just five points behind top spot, so Sunday's match could go a long way toward putting the Sky Blues right back into a familiar position.
