Manchester City vs. Real Madrid: Preview, date, time, live stream and how to watch Champions League match in CanadaDAZN

Manchester City and Real Madrid played to a 1-1 draw last week in the first leg of their Champions League semi-final, leaving everything to play for on Wednesday.

The teams will meet at the Etihad Stadium for the second leg, with City hoping to use their home advantage to defeat the most successful side in UCL history. But Pep Guardiola stressed that it will take more than just motivation to get past Los Blancos.

"The emotion is there and the emotion will be high, it has to be high in these games," Guardiola said.

"But just this is not going to beat a team like Real Madrid.

"We have a gameplan and we have to execute it a little bit better than we did it in the first leg."

The first leg saw the Sky Blues possess more of the ball and create more shots on target, but it still took until the 67th minute for Kevin De Bruyne's strike to put City on the board. Guardiola says his team will need to be more decisive if they are to win the match on Wednesday.

"We have to adjust something, we have to do it a little better to create more chances for our strikers and our people up front - get more balls in these positions, knowing that the transitions, the ball possession and the quality that they have in all departments is really high," he said.

"It could not be any different, we're playing against Real Madrid in the semi-final of the Champions League, we expect the toughest opponents we can face right now in the last few years.

"This is the challenge, we embrace it, we get it and go for it."
