Manchester City win Premier League title

Manchester United's loss to Leicester City on Tuesday clinched the title for the Sky Blues.

They weren't even on the pitch, but Manchester City have nonetheless officially claimed the 2020-21 Premier League title.

The Sky Blues clinched the title thanks to Manchester United's 1-2 loss to Leicester City on Tuesday, giving City their fifth league crown of the past decade. Pep Guardiola's men have been dominant this season, with a 10-point lead over second place United thanks to a 25-5-5 record.

United were the only team with the ability to catch their crosstown rivals in the standings, but with City's magic number at three heading into Tuesday it was going to take near perfection from the Red Devils along with an epic collapse by the league leaders for such a scenario to take place.

The tiny margin for error ultimately caught up to United, allowing City to finally open the champagne.
