Manchester United made big strides during Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's first two seasons in charge.
When the club's Norwegian legend took the reins from Jose Mourinho in December 2018, the team was in disarray and seemingly ready to fall to depths not seen in generations. However, Solskjaer was able to stabilize things, leading the Red Devils to a sixth place finish that season.
The following campaign saw more improvement under Solskjaer, as United climbed to third on the table to finish the 2019-20 season.
Third place would be reason to celebrate for most teams, but United is not most teams. Being the most decorated club in the history of English football means there's no room for five-year plans or prolonged rebuilds — United fans expect their club to be legitimately challenging for the Premier League title every year.
So Solskjaer enters his second full season in charge (third in total) with the weight of high expectation on his shoulders. United is undoubtedly one of the better sides in the Premier League, but is it at the lofty levels set by rivals Liverpool and Manchester City over the past few years?
