England midfielder Kobbie Mainoo says he is “so grateful” for Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag.
Despite intense speculation over his future, Ten Hag will remain United boss for the 2024-25 season.
Under Ten Hag, 19-year-old Mainoo has become a key figure in central midfield for United.
Mainoo had just one senior United appearance before 2023-24, but he featured in every Premier League game from mid-December for United last season.
And speaking at England’s Euro 2024 press conference ahead of their second game against Denmark, Mainoo paid thanks to his club manager.
"I'm so grateful for him,” said Mainoo.
“He put so much trust in me to play in the team. I can't thank him enough.
"I’m happy to be building with him, we’ve got two trophies and hopefully there's more to come.”
Mainoo will come up against club team-mates Christian Eriksen and Rasmus Hojlund if he plays in England’s upcoming game with Denmark.
Mainoo praised both players, but said he will put emotion to one side if he is picked to play against them on Thursday.
"They're both great team-mates to me,” said Mainoo.
“Rasmus is young like me so I am always around him.
“I am trying to learn and pick up from Christian, if I'm to play on Thursday I'll have to put that to the side compete against him and hopefully get the win."
