The first half of the season for Manchester United has been one to forget.
Early Champions League and Carabao Cup exits along with a mixed start in the Premier League has resulted in the Red Devils needing to make up significant ground in the race for the top four.
Since the turn of the new year, United are now experiencing a good run of form with a four-match unbeaten run in the Premier League and one player has stood out: striker Rasmus Hojlund.
Scoring in all four of United's league fixtures in 2024, the Danish star could be vital if the team are to secure Champions League football next season and former striker Dimitar Berbatov believes Hojlund's goal scoring and confidence will be a huge benefit for the club.
"Right now, Hojlund is going through a great spell and scoring goals," Berbatov told Betfair .
"His goal against Aston Villa showed how great his positioning was. When you have set-pieces, the striker needs to position themself to know and anticipate where the ball is going to drop. So for me, his goal against Villa was an ugly goal, but it was important. Keep scoring, man!
"Every single striker, when they are scoring like this, they walk like a world champion around the training ground. He will be buzzing and joking with his teammates - this is what you want to see from your strikers. We are a different breed.
"You want a striker to feel special, to know the team counts on him, so when he scores he's the king of the world. This is what is happening with him right now."
Hojlund will be hoping to add to his goal tally when United travel to strugglers Luton Town on Sunday.
