    Two struggling Premier League giants meet Sunday when Manchester United hosts Arsenal.

    United (2-1-2) sits in 15th place heading into Matchday 7, although it holds a game in hand over most of the rest of the league. Still, it's rather jarring to see the Red Devils so low on the Premier League table, and recent results haven't shown that they'll be making a run toward the top any time soon.

    Arsenal (3-0-3) enters the weekend under similar circumstances, albeit with a slightly better position in the standings (11th). The Gunners seemed to be a much-improved team at the start of the 2020-21 campaign, but the bad habit of dropping points to clubs of a lesser pedigree has arisen again, putting them well behind the pace to start November.

    Both teams are actually coming off big midweek victories — United won 5-0 over RB Leipzig in Champions League play while Arsenal easily dispatched Europa League opponent Dundalk, 3-0 — which may provide a boost of much-needed confidence. The real test is translating European success into domestic achievement, which is something neither United nor Arsenal have been able to do for the past few seasons.

    With a busy couple of weeks ahead for both teams, a win here would go far towards putting the victor's season on track.
