The England forward could make the switch in the summer.

West Ham manager David Moyes believes he could sign Jesse Lingard on a permanent deal this summer.

The Manchester United forward had not played in the Premier League all season for his parent club, but scored twice as he inspired his new side to a 3-1 win over Aston Villa on Wednesday night.

Lingard’s contract expires at the end of next season but he is expected to find a new permanent club in the summer, and Moyes is open to the possibility that he may make the switch to West Ham for good.

"We won't get carried away with one game but we are really pleased for Jesse and he did a great job for us," explained Moyes.

"The situation here is that Jesse has a good chance to look at West Ham and see what he thinks of us and to see if he likes it.

"And we are going to have a good chance to look at Jesse, as are the supporters, and we will be able to decide what we think in five or six months' time."

West Ham are still in the running for a Champions League spot and are just two points behind fourth-placed Liverpool.

They visit struggling Fulham at Craven Cottage on Saturday evening.
