MLS is back!
Major League Soccer returns for another season this week, with reigning champion Columbus Crew among the favourites to lift the Philip F. Anschutz Trophy at the end of the campaign. The Crew return the vast majority of their cup-winning roster for 2021, and they'll face a stiff test right off the bat as 2020 Supporters' Shield winner Philadelphia Union visits on Sunday.
The Crew and Union are — along with Toronto FC, Portland Timbers, and Atlanta United — among the five MLS teams that are active in the CONCACAF Champions League, which kicked off last week and gave those teams a leg up in terms of getting competitive games under their belt ahead of the regular season. With all five advancing to the quarterfinals, the juggling act between domestic and continental competition will already give those teams' coaches headaches and could affect this week's MLS matches.
Here's the full schedule for Week 1 of the MLS season, plus how to watch every game live.
