July turns to August with another double-match week in Major League Soccer.
On the hot seat is Inter Miami head coach Phil Neville, whose team is dead last in the entire league despite having the highest payroll (according to the most recent MLS Player's Association figures, which don't include some recent signings). Miami's ambitious project has gone terribly awry, as the team has collected just nine points from 13 games and hasn't won a match since mid-May.
Neville's men will have two more chances to add to their palty win total this week, starting with a visit by former tenant CF Montreal on Saturday. The Canadian club called Miami's DRV PNK Stadium home throughout much of the pandemic but has since returned home to Quebec. Montreal has also already beaten Miami twice this season, and will go for the clean sweep when the teams meet for the final time during the regaular season.
Elsewhere, the New England Revolution aim to keep their spot atop the league-wide standings with matches at the New York Red Bulls (July 31) and at home against Nashville SC (Aug. 4).
