The international break is over, and Major League Soccer returns with a massive slate of games.
With 26 matches set over the weekend and ensuing Wednesday, the league is wasting no time getting back into full swing after two weeks off. Among the long list of games, Austin FC's June 19 home opener against the San Jose Earthquakes stands out as one of the more noteworthy fixtures.
The Texas expansion club has thus far played all of its games on the road while awaiting the opening of Q2 Stadium, which had its grand opening with a United States women's national team match on June 16. Now, the 20,500-seat venue's primary tenant gets its turn to show off the new digs, with a capacity crowd expected for Saturday's contest.
Other big games coming up this week include Eastern Conference-leading New England Revolution facing both New York teams (at NYCFC on Saturday, vs. the Red Bulls on June 23) as Bruce Arena's squad looks to keep hold of its lofty perch. As well, the LA Galaxy will host West leaders Seattle Sounders in a clash of third-versus-first in the conference.
