The summer of soccer was kind to Canada, as relived by the guys on the DAZN Soccer Show.

It's been a summer to remember for Canadian soccer.

On the women's side, Christine Sinclair and Co. changed the colour of their medals as they captured gold at Tokyo 2020 in a historic run through the tournament. The victory extends Canada's streak to three consecutive Olympic Games on the podium, with a triumphant penalty shootout now etched into the country's collective memories.

Meanwhile, the men's team advanced to the final round of qualification for next year's FIFA World Cup in Qatar — the furthest the side has progressed in World Cup qualifiers since 1997. They followed that up with a thrilling CONCACAF Gold Cup in which they went toe-to-toe with regional powers Mexico and the United States, while also defeating Costa Rica, Haiti and Martinique. Although the Canadians didn't make it to the final, they served notice to the rest of the confederation that their youth-laden team is a forced to be reckoned within the region.

On the DAZN Soccer Show, hosts James Sharman, Craig Forrest, Danny Dichio, Brendan Dunlop and Dan Wong broke down all the positives surrounding Canadian soccer these days, with a look ahead at what's to come for the program.
