One of the most entertaining games of the tournament so far had a much-needed result for the Germans.

Germany registered their first points of the Euro 2020 tournament on Saturday, scoring the lion's share of the goals in a 4-2 thriller against Portugal.

That said, the majority of those six goals came from Portugal players. After the defending European champions broke away from heavy German pressure to open the scoring via Cristiano Ronaldo early on, Ruben Dias and Raphael Guerreiro had the last touch on responses from Joachim Low's side to make it 2-1 to the 2014 World Cup winners.

The impressive duo of Kai Havertz and Robin Gosens then scored one each to put Germany 4-1 up, with Diogo Jota's goal later on serving as but a consolation for the Portuguese.

With 2018 World Cup winners France being held to a 1-1 draw by Hungary earlier in the day, Group F is now in an interesting position ahead of the third and final group fixtures next week.
