The 2020-21 Premier League season is set to start just six weeks after the previous campaign ended.
The stop-start nature of the prior season means that the 2020-21 campaign will start later than usual. Reigning champion Liverpool will begin its title defence in September rather than the mid-August kick-off that is traditional in England's top flight.
Even with the later start, it'll still be a tight squeeze to fit the entire season in before next summer's European Championship. Additionally, clubs that advanced deep into this past summer's Champions League and Europa League will need some sort of break ahead of the new domestic campaign.

When does Premier League 2020-21 finish?
As usual, the league's final matchday will happen on a Sunday with all clubs in action simultaneously. May 23 is the scheduled date for the season finale, which is 19 days before the scheduled kick-off of Euro 2020 (which was postponed to 2021).
