Manchester United were well beaten by Sheffield United, and Thomas Tuchel will be unimpressed by Chelsea's efforts against Wolves.

Manchester United’s title hopes were dealt a huge blow when they lost 2-1 at home to bottom side Sheffield United.

Throughout the match, a poor defensive display saw United vulnerable, as Kean Bryan scored after 23 minutes before Harry Maguire equalized in the second half. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men seemed set to pile on the pressure before Olle Burke grabbed a winner following a disastrous clearance from David de Gea.

The win left them a point behind Manchester City, who have a game in hand at the top of the table, and one ahead of Leicester City, who played in the evening’s other late kick-off.

Brendan Rodgers’ side fell behind at Goodison Park as Everton went ahead through a brilliant James Rodriguez strike before Youri Tielemans beat Jordan Pickford from the edge of the box to earn a point.

Meanwhile, Chelsea played their first game under Thomas Tuchel at Stamford Bridge as they faced off against Wolverhampton Wanderers. The two mid-table sides were toothless in attack, and while Chelsea was the more dominant of the two, their new coach has plenty of work to do with Kai Havertz and Timo Werner to spark into life.

At Turf Moor, Burnley recovered from 1-0 up and then at 2-2 to win 3-2 against Aston Villa, with a late goal from Chris Wood the difference for Sean Dyche’s side. Later in the evening, Fulham and Brighton played out a 0-0 draw.
