It's Matchday 3, and there already a few questions that need to be answered about the Premier League.
First, when will Manchester United play up to its talent level? OK, the Red Devils have only played once so far in the young campaign, but their 2020-21 debut was a poor outing against a Crystal Palace team that — while not a pushover — should've been a relatively easy victory for United. The main positive for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's squad is that new signing Donny van de Beek made an immediate impression by scoring his team's only goal of the 3-1 loss less than 15 minutes into his maiden match at Old Trafford.
The second question that needs to be asked is whether Leicester City is actually as good as its start indicates. The Foxes have outscored their opponents 7-2 over the first two matchdays, although they weren't exactly facing the cream of the Premier League crop in those games. With a Matchday 3 meeting against Manchester City in the cards, we're going to find out a lot about Leicester in short order.
Finally, Matchday 3 may give us an answer as to whether Arsenal is ready to take a step up and re-join the league's big boys. The Gunners head to Anfield to face Liverpool in a match that could give us a gauge on the North Londoners' decent start to the season. A win or draw against Liverpool would signal renewed hope for Arsenal, while a loss would be more of the same.
