Manchester CIty's strangehold atop the Premier League grew a bit looser after the club's loss to 10-man Leeds last week, coupled with Manchester United's victory over Tottenham.
The Sky Blues still have an 11-point advantage, and should still be considered the overwhelming favourites to claim the title, but another slip-up by Pep Guardiola's men could lead to an uneasy final few weeks of the campaign. City's got six games remaining (including Wednesday's visit to Aston Villa), while United holds a game in hand ahead of a Sunday meeting with Burnley.
A Red Devils win would see then within eight points of their arch-rival for at least three days, putting pressure on City to claim all three points from the rescheduled match against Villa.
Elsewhere, four teams (Chelsea, Liverpool, Tottenham and Everton) are within seven points of fourth-place West Ham in the race for England's final Champions League berth. With the number of remaining games now in the single digits, time is running out for one of the challengers to make a charge.
