Despite a torrid middle portion of the season, Liverpool have finished in third place.

Sadio Mane's double ensured Liverpool will remain in the Champions League tournament for the 2021/22 campaign after their 2-0 win at home to Crystal Palace on the final day of the Premier League season that earned them a third-place finish.

The Reds endured a nightmare defence of their 2019/20 title, relinquishing the trophy to Manchester City while Manchester United finished second. But the final-day win over departing Palace manager and ex-Reds boss Roy Hodgson ensured a positive conclusion.

Chelsea lost 2-1 at Aston Villa in what appeared for the most part to force them to win the 2021 Champions League trophy in next week's final vs. Man City, only for a late Leicester collapse at home to Tottenham in a 2-4 reverse to hand fourth place and the final CL berth to the Blues.

Gareth Bale's brace ensured the Spurs finished 7th, above rivals Arsenal despite their 2-0 win against Brighton. In what could be his last game as a Tottenham player, Harry Kane's goal earlier in the match clinched him the Golden Boot (23) ahead of Mohamed Salah (22) as the Egyptian could not get on the scoresheet at Anfield despite his best efforts.

West Ham capped a great season by consolidating sixth with a comfortable 3-0 win over Southampton, while outgoing legend Sergio Aguero broke Wayne Rooney's record for most Premier League goals for one club when he netted two off the bench to conclude the title-winners' 5-0 rout of Everton.

Recap all the twists and turns on the final day of the Premier League season below.
