Only one goal was needed as the German side claimed its sixth UCL crown.

In a final between two high-scoring juggernauts, it was a single goal by Kingsley Coman that was the difference as Bayern Munich defeated Paris Saint-Germain 1-0 in the UEFA Champions League final on Sunday.

Coman's inclusion in Bayern's starting lineup was a bit of a surprise as he hadn't started at all in the previous knockout-stage games, but Bayern manager Hansi Flick's gamble paid off handsomely in the 59th minute as the 24-year-old finished a brilliant attacking move to break the deadlock. The goal came at the end of a fast-paced opening hour in which both sides seemed destined to score, but only Bayern could find the needed composure to score.

That it came from Coman — the Paris-born, PSG-raised winger — was bittersweet for the French club as PSG's high-priced acquisitions couldn't solve the Bayern puzzle despite several opportunities.

The result means Bayern completes the treble (Bundesliga, DFB-Pokal and Champions League) in a season that began with a managerial change. The Bavarians were thoroughly dominant throughout the continental championship, winning all of 10 of their matches and scoring 43 goals in the process.

Among the players who raised the trophy was 19-year-old Alphonso Davies, who became the first Canadian international to win the Champions League after putting in 90 minutes of work on Sunday.

DAZN News provided live updates from Sunday's match. Here's how it went down.
