Three Canadians could take the pitch in Wednesday's clash, live on DAZN.

Just days after Alphonso Davies celebrated winning the UEFA Champions League, three more Canadians will have the opportunity to play for European glory.

The fact is, while Davies became the first Canada men's international to lift the Champions League trophy when Bayern Munich defeated PSG on Sunday, there's another player who has previously donned the Maple Leaf and had already beaten him to the top of the European mountain.

That player is Kadeisha Buchanan, the Canada women's national team mainstay who has tasted Champions League victory three years in a row with her club Olympique Lyonnais.

Buchanan is in contention for her fourth consecutive UCL trophy, but first Lyon must take care of fellow Division 1 Feminine side Paris Saint-Germain in Wednesday's semifinal. Lyon will be the favourite to move on, but PSG also has a roster blessed with international talent and will prove to be no pushover.

Potentially lining up against Buchanan are two of her Canada teammates. Ashley Lawrence and Jordyn Huitema are both on PSG's roster, with Lawrence a well-established star for the Parisians. If Lawrence and Buchanan see the pitch on Wednesday, it would mark the first time two Canadians square off in a Champions League semifinal.

And should Huitema be brought in (assuming both Buchanan and Lawrence are also playing), it'll be the first time three Canadians feature in a single Champions League match — men's or women's — at any stage of the competition.

There's certainly a lot of local flavour in Wednesday's match. The only question left to be answered is whether one Canadian will advance to the final — or two.
