Arsenal are expected to be active in the transfer window as they look to close the gap between themselves and Premier League champions Manchester City.
The Gunners have been runners-up to City in back-to-back seasons, with the most recent campaign coming down to the last day. As such, the North London club know they are not that far off but will likely need some reinforcements to compete with Pep Guardiola's side.
With the season now over, it should be expected that transfer activity will heat up. However, the lack of action so far may have some Arsenal fans concerned about the club waiting too long to secure their targets.
A retired former Arsenal star believes the lack of activity is not too worrying, though. Speaking to Gambling Zone, two-time league champion Alan Smith explained why fans should not worry yet.
"We haven't seen much transfer activity so far and that's because of the Euros," Smith said. "All the players understandably want to concentrate on the tournament, they don't want to be talking to their agents and clubs about signing until they've got this tournament out of the way.
"It's not an ideal situation for the clubs, and Arsenal, under Edu and [Mikel] Arteta, have been quite decisive. They've got the business done early. They certainly haven't been waiting until the last day or week.
"Benjamin Šeško [from RB Leipzig] has been constantly linked. He's the right age at 21. He's got his whole career ahead of him. That kind of player, a big, imposing striker, would be a nice addition to the lads we've got at the moment.
"You need to have options and a bit of contrast in your squad. [Brentford striker] Ivan Toney has been linked constantly, Alexander Isak as well from Newcastle. Behind the scenes, lots would have been going on in the months leading up to this.
"I've got a lot of confidence in Edu and his team. They've been shown to be very efficient in their business. Once the tournament's over or certain teams have been knocked out, you might see things happen quickly."
