With the Premier League winter break in full swing, Liverpool sit top of the table with a slender two point lead over defending champions Manchester City.
However, the next few weeks could make the difference as to whether Liverpool will be lifting the trophy come May with star player Mohamed Salah away on international duty with Egypt at the African Cup of Nations.
With Salah absent, Jurgen Klopp's team could find it more difficult to score more goals, but former Premier League striker Robbie Keane, who made 349 appearances for a number of clubs and scored 126 goals, believes there is one player at Liverpool who could be prove crucial in the charge for English football's top prize.
"I think Liverpool have the staying power to win the Premier League. I thought a lot of the new players they bought in the summer would take time to gel, but they’ve settled in well and they’re managing to win games both in the Premier League and in the cups," Keane told Betway.
"Mo Salah is obviously a big loss and, no question, he’s hard to replace, but I think Liverpool can maintain their momentum with the forward players they still have.
"Diogo Jota coming back is a big plus for them, and I really like Darwin Nunez. I think he can be a really good player for Liverpool. Of course, he needs to improve in terms of his number of goals, but you can see the fans really respond to his energy and work rate.
"As a striker, you’re judged on scoring goals, but I’m sure that will come because he’s got everything. He’s big, he’s strong and he’s got pace."
Nunez has made 19 appearances for Liverpool so far in the Premier League, but has only scored five goals and he will look to increase this tally when his side travel to Bournemouth this coming Sunday.
