With Inter Milan cruising toward a Serie A title, the focus turns to the other battles up and down the standings.
Even though it's possible Inter could be caught — the Nerazzurri hold a 10-point lead with six games left to play — it's likely that they'll soon be celebrating their first Scudetto in over a decade.
While Inter's coronation seems inevitable, the league's European spots are far from settled. Second through fifth are separated by just three points, with sixth-place Lazio only five points out of a Europa League berth. Even though nobody seems likely to catch Inter at this late stage, the likes of Juventus, Milan, and Napoli can assure themselves of a Champions League invite with a good push through the final stages of the campaign.
Additionally, several clubs will be desperate not to join Crotone in the relegation places to end the season. Parma and Cagliari are the current favourites to drop to Serie B with Crotone, but a late-season surge could be enough to salvage their status as top-tier clubs for another year.
