Several reports out of the United Kingdom on Wednesday indicate that Thierry Henry has emerged as the tiop candidate to take over as manager of AFC Bournemouth.
Henry, 43, is the current head coach of CF Montreal in Major League Soccer, but that hasn't stopped him from being speculated on as the successor to former Cherries boss Jason Tindall. Reports from Sky Sports and The Guardian state that Bournemouth have placed Henry's name at the top of their list of desired new managers, while the Daily Mirror reported that the Cherries believe they have convinced the legendary former striker to join them.
On the other side of the Atlantic, reports state that there is evidence Henry is under consideration by the Bournemouth brass.
Henry has been head coach of the Montreal club, formerly known as Montreal Impact, since November 2019 and is under contract for one more season. Montreal was knocked out of the play-in round of the 2020 MLS playoffs after posting an 8-13-2 record in the regular season.
Bournemouth are sixth in the EFL Championship and currently being managed by former England international Jonathan Woodgate on an interim basis.
